Special Community Members Recognized
On August 20, 2019 the Greece Town Board presented proclamations to some special members of the community.
Peyton Penna and Preston Grant received special recognition for their incredible impact on the Greece community. This summer the boys set up a lemonade stand selling cooling drinks in the heat of summer for 25¢. After the first day, they sold $12 worth of lemonade. When discussing what to do with the money, they decided they would use the money to buy school supplies for children who could not afford them. The next day, the boys set up the lemonade stand again and this time sold $100 worth of lemonade. They allowed services members – firefighters, police officers, veterans, and mail carriers – to drink for free. The boys split their proceeds and Peyton bought school supplies for his elementary school – Craighill Elementary, and Preston bought school supplies for his elementary school – Longridge Elementary.
“I would like to commend both boys for their incredible impact on our community and for showing all of us how kindness can make a difference,” Greece Town Supervisor Bill Reilich said.
