Hilton inducts first four members to Legends of Hilton hockey

Between the second and third period of Hilton’s high school hockey game against Irondequoit, a part of the ten-day Frozen Frontier event, the Cadets announced the formation of “Legends of Hilton Hockey” and inducted their first four members in an on-field ceremony.

Tom Dowd, Bruce Klingler, Frank Golisano and John Farnham make up the inaugural class.

Dowd, Klinger and Golisano were the first coaches in the program’s history starting in 1988 when they took the team to the best first year record in Section V at 11-4-4 and to the sectional playoff semi-finals.

Farnham amassed 120 wins during his time behind the Cadets bench and was named Section V Coach of the Year on three separate occasions.

In a statement read over the public address system during the ceremony, “It is with heartfelt sentiment that the Hilton Cadets Ice Hockey program says thank you to these Legends … and to all of the Hilton hockey players and alumni. Without their leadership, passion and guidance, the Cadets ice hockey program would not be where it is today.”
