Golf Tourney raises funds for Camp Abilities
Camp Abilities Brockport is a one-week overnight sports camp for children with visual impairments held annually at The College at Brockport. The sports offered at camp are: goalball (a blind sport), beep baseball, track and field, swimming, judo, tandem biking, gymnastics, rollerblading, kayaking, canoeing, stand up paddle boarding, basketball, fishing, archery, horseback riding, rock climbing, dancing, and other activities. Children come from all over New York State and the counselors come from all over the world to learn how to teach these special athletes.
Each year the staff hosts a golf tournament to raise money for the program. This year the golf tournament and dinner auction is May 10 at Salmon Creek Country Club in Spencerport. Golf starts at 1 p.m. and includes dinner and the silent auction with the 18 holes. It is $85 for the golf and dinner. The dinner and silent auction only, is $30.
