Greece Historical Society member, Marie V. Poinan, received the Association of Public Historians of NYS (APHNYS) and the New York State Museum’s Annual Award for Excellence in Promoting Local History.
Marie has spent decades documenting the history of the Town of Greece and the former Village of Charlotte through her work as a volunteer with the Greece Historical Society and the Charlotte Genesee Lighthouse.
The award was presented September 19, 2023, at the APHNYS annual conference in Ithaca, New York. The Greece community is fortunate to have a dedicated volunteer like Marie Poinan.
