The Sweden/Clarkson Community Center’s kitchen has undergone a facelift over the past several months. A wall was removed, cabinetry re-configured, sinks relocated, a new dishwasher and ice machine installed. Some new cabinets, ceiling tiles and paint rounded out the renovation. Most of the work was performed in-house by the buildings and grounds department.
The kitchen is inspected annually by the Monroe County Health Department and some staff members are food-safety certified. The recreation department offers youth cooking and baking lessons and dinner, lunch and breakfast events for seniors and the general community. Additionally, the kitchen and cafeteria can be rented for birthday parties/showers/luncheons. For more information about using the SCCC kitchen, call the Community Center at 431-0090.
