Brockport HS students participate in entrepreneurship class
Twenty-five students at Brockport High School had the opportunity to start real businesses and make sales as part of an entrepreneurship class using Boss Club curriculum.
Boss Club’s innovative entrepreneurship curriculum is used in hundreds of schools across the country and helps middle and high school students start their first business, equipping them with the confidence, creativity, and grit uniquely forged by entrepreneurship.
During the program, students launched real businesses like candle making, dog treats, fly fishing equipment, lawn care, fitness programs, and more, and made real sales during the course. Best of all, half of the students indicated that they wanted to continue with their businesses after the course, so these results are only the beginning.
“It has been so awesome this semester to watch our students create their own businesses,” said Mark Mutton, business/entrepreneurism teacher. “They did everything including naming the business, designed logos and websites, marketing plans, building a customer base, and sales pitches. They’ve done everything that a regular business owner would be doing in their business. It’s extremely fun to watch the students develop skills that they’ll be able to take with them and use in any industry that they choose to enter after high school or college.“
