One Step Tree & Lawncare is proud to celebrate their 40th anniversary as a leading provider of lawn care treatment programs for Rochester and surrounding communities. Founded by Robert Ottley and headquartered in Chili, One Step Tree & Lawncare has been keeping Rochester green since 1976.
One Step initially offered complete landscape maintenance, then began to focus specifically on lawn care treatments in 1979; a relatively new service in the Rochester area that resulted in tremendous business growth throughout the 1980s.
In the 1990s, One Step added tree care treatment services and competition in the industry increased. Bob Ottley distinguished the business by providing the highest quality customer service and comprehensive employee training. His philosophy is now as it was then, to treat each customer as an individual and each lawn and landscape as if it was his own.
Ten years ago, Greg Adams assumed the role of President, taking over day-to-day operations. He’s worked with One Step since 1981 and continues to lead in Ottley’s example. When asked about One Step’s success, Greg explains, “ The key is having a passion for providing the best experience for your customers, then hiring and retaining the best people to do so.”
One Step continues to evolve to meet the demands of consumers, offering mosquito treatment programs in response to growing concerns over mosquito spread illnesses, such as the Zika virus.
