Oak Orchard Health unveils new Mobile Dental Unit for students
Oak Orchard Health (OOH) has cut the ribbon on its new Mobile Dental Unit. This state-of-the-art vehicle will provide dental care to students in the Albion, Medina, Holley, Kendall, and Lyndonville School Districts. The Mobile Dental Unit has two treatment rooms where students will receive comprehensive dental care. They can also get x-rays. OOH will be resuming services within the next few weeks, starting with the Albion School District.
“We have been providing school-based dental services to Orleans County schools since 2005. It has always been our mission to provide dental care to this underserved community, and it is something we are very passionate about. We were recently in desperate need of a new dental unit. So, I would like to extend a special and sincere thanks to The Mother Cabrini Health Foundation for providing the funding. John Craik and his team are truly visionaries,” said Dr. Rachel Nozzi, Chief Dental Officer at Oak Orchard Health. The Mother Cabrini Health Foundation awarded $650,000 in grant funds to acquire a new, drivable mobile dental unit.
“We’ve had many supporters through the years, and I want to thank Assemblyman Steve Hawley, our board chair Karen Watt who has fought tirelessly to bring dental services to this community. Next month we’ll be opening a new Dental Office at the corner of South Main Street and Allen Road,” said Karen Kinter, interim CEO at Oak Orchard Health.
