Greater Rochester Chamber of Commerce Welcomes Joe Leathersich as Director of Advocacy, Intergovernmental Affairs, and Public Policy

Greater Rochester Chamber of Commerce is proud to announce the addition of Joe Leathersich as the new Director of Advocacy, Intergovernmental Affairs, and Public Policy. In this vital role, Joe will leverage his extensive public service background and deep regional ties to advocate for the business community, influence policy, and strengthen connections between local businesses and government.

Joe is a lifelong resident of the region, growing up in Greece, attending SUNY Geneseo, and now residing in the City of Rochester with his wife and two children. His professional journey includes working with Congressman Joe Morelle and the New York State Department of Transportation. Joe’s connection to the Rochester business community runs deep, having been raised by parents Mark and Pam, who owned Christie Carpets in Greece for over 40 years.

“It is an honor to join this incredible team in advocating for our businesses and highlighting the wonderful and exciting Greater Rochester region,” said Leathersich. “As proud residents of this community, my family and I are beneficiaries of the decades-long groundwork that Greater Rochester Chamber of Commerce has laid. I’m excited to listen to our members, reduce the barriers they face, and help ensure opportunities for future success.”

When not working, Joe enjoys exploring Western New York with his children, watching movies and sports, or cooking for family and friends.

“We are excited to welcome Joe to our team,” said Bob Duffy, President and CEO of Greater Rochester Chamber of Commerce. “His experience in public service, deep local roots, and commitment to our community make him an invaluable addition. Joe’s leadership will strengthen our advocacy efforts and help us continue to support the success of businesses throughout the Greater Rochester region.”
