The Preservation League is seeking nominations from local and regional preservation organizations, advocacy groups, municipalities and others for its 2014-15 list of New York State’s most endangered places, Seven to Save.
Since 1999, the Preservation League has highlighted New York’s most threatened historic sites through its Seven to Save list, which now provides two years of enhanced services from the League to bolster visibility and build support for preservation.
The League is looking for historic places in New York State that could benefit from the additional attention that Seven to Save designation brings. Although all types of properties are eligible for nomination, for 2014-15, the League especially encourages the nomination of places that can serve as case studies or models pertaining to the following categories:
•Threats to historic resources built after World War II, such as buildings, neighborhoods, landscapes, and public and private sector complexes;
•Threats to sites relating to a specific cultural heritage, such as African-American, Latino, or Native American; or
•Threats to buildings, landscapes and other cultural resources due to technological, energy and transportation development.
The postmark deadline for nominations is October 16. The guidelines are available for download on the Preservation League’s website at www.preservenys.org – click on Seven to Save.
