The Hilton Apple Fest Apple Pie Contest featured 33 pies. In the Youth Division (up through age 16) the first place winner was Bryant VanSlyke who won $50 with a pie made of Golden Supreme and McIntosh apples. The second place winner in the Youth Division was Keara Conolly who won $25 for her pie made of Cortland apples.
In the Adult Division, the first place winner was Roxanne Plyes who won $100 with her pie made of McIntosh apples. The second place winner was Anne Lairmore who won $50 for her pie made of Gala and McIntosh apples. The third place winner was Alex Elmore who won $25 with a pie made of Honey Crisp apples. The judges evaluated pies for appearance, taste, and texture.
The judges were: Susan Bjornholm of Wheatfield, Michael Cifuentes of West Henrietta, Blaine Crawford of Rochester, Pat Dray from London, Ontario, Canada, Wayne Hibbard of Hilton, Paul Marvin of Hilton, Debbie Nellis of Rochester, and Joe Sciortino of Rochester. Volunteers were Mary Herring of Kendall, Janet Lincoln of Rochester, Becky Hibbard of Hilton, Kathy Enright of Rochester, Audrey Blocchi of Rochester, Joan Marvin of Hilton, Brittnee Crawford of Rochester, Cheryl Miles of Hilton, Janice Dollard of Brockport, and Shannon Zabelny of Hilton. The Apple Pie Contest Co-Chairpersons were Jane Mitchel of Spencerport and Linda Viney of Hilton.
