Senior Academy begins classes

Sheriff Patrick O’Flynn helped to kick off a Senior Academy Thursday, October 3 in Ogden. More than 30 senior citizens will complete an eight week “academy class.”

Seniors in this group will spend the time with members of the Sheriff’s Office. They will visit certain areas of the county including: the Monroe County Jail, the Public Safety Training Facility, and they will travel in vehicles used to transport jail inmates.

The Sheriff explained some of the Sheriff’s Office operations. He was joined by several members of his office including Undersheriff William Sanborn, Captain Dave Inzana, Lieutenant William Taddeo, Corporal John Helfer, Deputy Scott McKinney who is the crime prevention officer for C-Zone, Deputy Rich Tantalo who is the crime prevention officer for B-Zone, and Quartermaster Todd Allen also gave a presentation on the history of the Sheriff’s Office. Sergeant Phil Gombatto represented the Civil Bureau. Deputy Andy Hildreth is a crime prevention officer for A-Zone.
