Spencerport Food Shelf needs new site

The Spencerport Ecumenical Food Shelf (SEFS) is asking for assistance from the community in locating a new distribution site.

With ever-increasing numbers of clients, they have outgrown the capacity of their current location, and are facing the possibility that the current location will be torn down during a planned redevelopment of the area.

SEFS was a project of the Spencerport Ecumenical Ministries (SEM) member churches formed in 1999, to respond to the urgent need for food and household supplies for families in the Spencerport School District area. Serving over 170 households in the Spencerport area, they require at least 800 square feet to store non-perishable food and household necessities.

The potential facility would also need to be on the ground floor with no stairs, and easily accessible to vehicles.

To suggest available space in Spencerport that may meet their long-term needs call 349-6805.
