Kiwanis Club speaker stresses importance of kidney function screening
Elissa Rowley, program assistant with the National Kidney Foundation, addressed the members of the Spencerport Kiwanis Club at a recent meeting.
Elyssa spoke to the club about the importance of getting screened to find out if individuals might be susceptible to kidney disease. Often people will go several years without knowing if they are having issues, but as people get older, body functions do not work as they used to.
She discussed the ways of getting tested, how to prevent kidney disease, and maintain treatment with the condition.
