Hamlin Egg Hunt set for April 13

Every year, Hamlin Recreation hosts an Easter Egg Hunt for the children in the community. This year it will be on Sunday, April 13, at 1:30 pm. Plastic eggs have been diligently stuffed by The Royals (Hamlin’s amazing youth group), and the Boy Scouts will help the Easter Bunny spread the goodie-filled eggs all over Hamlin Town Hall’s front lawn.

Eager kiddies clutching their containers wait for the nice lady to yell “Ready – Set – GO!” and off they will run like baby chicks released from a box, scurrying all over the lawn in all directions. Parents try to restrain themselves from helping their fledglings, while some can’t resist the urge to aid their three year olds in the race against the more proficient six year olds.

It is great fun to watch how hours and hours of work and preparation are gathered and hastily placed into plastic bags, baskets, and buckets. Within minutes the lawn is picked clean of all evidence of the earlier multi-colored Easter extravaganza.
