Saint-Gobain Foundation donates to Hospice of Orleans
In keeping with the spirit of Giving Tuesday, the day that asks people to donate on-line to a good cause, David Fink, Plant Manager of Saint-Gobain ADFORS in Albion and the Director of Human Resources, Donna Atkinson, surprised Hospice of Orleans with a $1,100 donation. Saint-Gobain is the world’s largest building materials company, as well as a global leader in the production of high-performance materials and glass containers. Its manufacturing facility in Albion employs more than 200.
Each year through the Saint-Gobain Corporation Foundation’s Community Gifts program, each facility across the United States is able to support the community in which it operates by targeting local needs and priorities. “We know about the important work done by Hospice and are very happy to support Hospice of Orleans with this gift,” David Fink said as he presented the check to Nyla Gaylord, Director of Development for Hospice of Orleans.
According to Mary Anne Fischer, Executive Director of Hospice of Orleans, “These funds will go to support the Transitions program, an in-home care program that serves seriously ill people. This largely volunteer driven, cost effective program serves the families of Orleans County and was developed to meet the special needs of those neither ready, nor eligible, for Hospice care. Most have a life limiting illness, need assistance in accessing community and medical resources to manage their disease and the challenges it presents. We are truly grateful to Saint–Gobain ADFORS for this unexpected gift which helps us meet a growing need in our community.”
