Brockport Kiwanis hosts Masquerade/Mardi Gras Ball Feb. 7
The Brockport Kiwanis 5th Masquerade/Mardi Gras Ball is set for February 7 at 7 p.m. at the Brockport Elks Lodge with music from the Brockport Big Band.
The Brockport Big Band consists of local musicians with a love for big band music. It was founded in 2005 by Lorie Bryant and is directed by Walt Perkins. They have played four times at the Rochester International Jazz Fest and at many venues around the Monroe County area. During the evening’s performance Big Band standards from the 1930s and 40s as well as more recent arrangements of funk and popular tunes will be featured.
The proceeds of the event will help the Brockport Kiwanis fund their mission in helping the children in the community. The cost of the event will be $50 per couple and $25 for individuals.
