Churchville-Riga Chamber of Commerce announces award winnes for 2014
The Greater Churchville-Riga Chamber of Commerce announces the winners of its 2014 community awards, which will be presented at its annual dinner on Thursday, March 19 at Naughton’s Johnson House. Dinner will be served at 7 p.m. following social time commencing at 6:30 p.m.
Peter and Nancy Neidrauer were nominated by Barry Nobles, President of the Lions Club of Churchville, and are the 2014 Citizens of the Year. In his nomination of the Neidrauers, Nobles describes all that the Neidrauers do in the Churchville community including not only working with the Lions Club but also with St. Vincent de Paul Church and Scout Pack 156. “As the winter starts to hit New York, they pack up their toolboxes and camper and head south to work with Habitat for Humanity, working with a team of volunteers from around the country. Together they build homes for the needy in the southeastern United States,” said Nobles in his nomination.
Pontillo’s Pizza will be receiving the Business of the Year honor.
Receiving the award for Civic Beautification is the Churchville-Chili Central School District in recognition of the work that has been done on the many campuses of the school district.
This year the Chamber of Commerce is recognizing Gary Johnson as the Chamber Member of the Year.
Tickets for the dinner are $25 per person and may be purchased at the Riga Town offices, Churchville Village offices and Naughton’s Johnson House. The deadline to purchase tickets is Friday, March 13. No tickets will be available at the door.
