In recognition of Earth Day 2015 and in preparation for the upcoming 191st consecutive navigation season on the New York State Canal System, the New York State Canal Corporation partnered with Parks & Trails New York (PTNY) to sponsor the Tenth Annual Canal Clean Sweep during the weekend of April 17 through 19.
As part of this multi-community celebration, The Village of Brockport Trustees Valerie Ciciotti and Katherine Kristansen and Mayor Margay Blackman, together with members of Girl Scouts of Western New York Lake Ridge Troop 60692, cleaned up litter along a canal trail segment in the village on April 18.
