Spencerport Depot & Canal Museum opens for the season on May 23 for weekends only. Beginning June 1 the facility will be open every day with new hours. Monday – Thursday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.; Fridays, 10 a.m. – 8 p.m.; Saturdays, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sundays, 1 to 5 p.m.
Many programs are planned and displays have been redesigned and updated. The Depot also has a new redesigned web site. Visit spencerportdepot.com.to keep up with events or stop in at the Depot for a brochure.
The grand opening celebration will be June 13 at 1 p.m. Bernabi school band will entertain with music before the winners of the fourth grade essay contest are announced, along with the winners of the photo contest the Depot sponsored this spring. The photo contest winners pictures will be on display for the month of June.
Last year, volunteers greeted over 3,000 visitors and 157 boats docked in Spencerport, many making return trips as they liked what they saw and enjoyed the area. New volunteers are welcome.
