The first-ever donut eating contest was held at this year’s Orleans County 4-H Fair, July 27 through August 1. Two members of the Orleans County Sheriff’s Department took on donut eating “amateurs” in two rounds to see who could eat the most of six donuts.
Here, Orleans County Deputy Sheriff Jeff Cole (in sunglasses), competes in the first round. He lost out to the other contestants who received t-shirts for their efforts. Deputy Cole joked that he lost because he prefers eating bagels. Looking on is Zachary Moore, the 2014 Orleans County 4-H Fair Duke. Orleans County Sheriff’s Department investigator Ken Strickland participated in the second round and also lost out to the “amateur” contestants. Donuts were donated by Dunkin Donuts.
