The Spencerport Rotary Club recently presented the Town of Ogden Police Department with a check in the amount of $2,000. The funds will be used to purchase attachable flashlights for the 15 officers’ pistols, thereby increasing the officers’ efficiency and accuracy when working in dark situations.
This donation came about as a result of a discussion held in late spring with former OPD Chief Douglas Nordquist as to any needs his department might have over and above the town’s budget. He indicated the need for his officers to be as safe as possible when dealing with any situation requiring the use of a flashlight. The flashlight attaches to the pistol and frees up the officer’s other hand, thereby making for much better hold on the service pistol.
