Guitarist, storyteller and humorist to perform at Monroe County Fair
Fresh off a month long tour of New Zealand, guitarist, storyteller and humorist Richard Gilewitz brings to life a platter of rousing tunes, tales and twitters filled with six and 12-string chops.
As Richard incorporates his own quirky personality and orchestration into a sound tunnel of timeless musical history, he takes his audience on an excursion filled with colorful imagery of samples from European, Contemporary and Spanish Classical works to the Traditional, Folk, Blues, and American Primitive eras.
“Acoustic Adventures” is a journey into the past and present realm of guitar that has received standing ovations around the globe from the Erupt Festival New Zealand, Garter Lane Arts Centre in Ireland, the Ipswich Center in Australia to the Kravis Performing Arts Center in the United States.
Charming his listeners with a mixture of tunes peppered with stories about the folks and events that have influenced acoustic guitar music and insights into life itself, Richard speaks through his guitar as a master of moods who is always at the service of his inner voice.
Spanning across a career of over four decades of well-honed technique and 30 years on the road touring worldwide, his signature sound has been captured on his seven releases, performance and instructional DVDs, and his songbooks.
It is his live shows that bring out the best in this internationally known song writer, performer and recording artist who follows a distinct cadence that creates a glow that continually grows a little brighter with each tune.
