Wine tasting fundraiser to benefit library’s education initiative
On Saturday, April 29 at 7 p.m., the Gates Public Library Foundation will host a wine tasting to benefit a first of its kind early childhood education partnership.
The fundraiser, which is being sponsored by ACM Global Laboratories, will feature samplings of wine from A Gust of Sun Winery, hors d’oeuvres, desserts, silent auctions, and a wine pull.
The Bushel Brothers will perform live music to entertain guests.
Proceeds will benefit an innovative educational partnership that will greatly expand preschool access to children living in the community. Each year, over 50 children in the community are unable to attend preschool through the school district’s current lottery placement system. The Gates Public Library seeks to combat this lack of opportunity by partnering with the Gates Chili Central School District to create an additional preschool location within the library.
This community education space will also be used to greatly improve and grow the library’s lineup of educational and recreational programs for everyone in the community, from infants to seniors and everyone in between.
Admission costs $25 for an individual, and $40 for a couple. Tickets are on sale at gateslibrary.org, and at the Gates Public Library checkout desk. For additional details, or for information on how to sponsor this event, contact Greg Benoit at 429-8298.
