Genesee Country Museum offers Trick-or-Treating October 28 and 29

What better way to trick-or-treat than to solicit candy and other goodies in the safe and comfortable atmosphere at the Genesee Country Village & Museum in Mumford – and meet some famous characters to boot?

Trick or treating
Young trick-or-treaters visit one of the historic houses at Genesee Country Village & Museum during Trick-or-Treating in the Village.

From noon until 4 p.m., Saturday and Sunday, October 28 and 29, families can enjoy an autumn afternoon strolling the streets of the historic village and visiting with townsfolk during Trick-or-Treating in the Village – an event that has proved so popular in the past that it is now a two-day event. Approximately a dozen of the village’s historic buildings will be open for trick-or-treating. An additional treat will be the appearance of Marshall, the fire dog, and Chase, the police/security dog. They will be available each day from 1 to 3 p.m. for autographs and photos with the children.

Other activities include: romping in the Bounce House, face painting, roasting marshmallows over an open fire, a Halloween picture to color and take home, spooky Halloween tales told around the campfire and visits with the village craftsmen and farm animals.

The program is designed for children ages 8 and under, but children of all ages are welcome. Admission is: youth (1 to 17) $8/$5 members; adults and infants are free.
