Regional Transit Service (RTS) is currently exploring changes to the transit system that will impact the Brockport community. Brockport Central School District Urban Suburban students, The College at Brockport students and local Lifetime Assistance residents are some of the many subgroups that depend on RTS for transportation home, to doctor’s appointments or to other locations.
The new initiative, titled “Reimagine RTS,” was launched to better meet the changing needs of the community and transportation industry. RTS is seeking community input to identify solutions for community mobility zones. Community mobility zones are areas in Monroe County currently served by 40- and 60- foot buses that would be served better by more cost-effective mobility solutions.
Brockport-area residents are invited to attend a community forum on Wednesday, February 6 at 6 p.m. in the A.D. Oliver Middle School LGI, located at 40 Allen Street in Brockport. Attendees will learn about various mobility options such as on-demand services, deviated routes, smaller shuttles and public-private partnerships, then have the opportunity to ask questions.
