“Celebrity Scramble” fundraiser part of Danielle Downey Credit Union Classic
Buffalo Bills legend Jim Kelly, Syracuse University basketball coach Jim Boeheim, NHL hockey player Brian Gionta, and musician Elvio Fernandes from the band Daughtry, will team with LPGA Symetra Tour players, first responders, local media personalities and more in a nine-hole “Celebrity Scramble” on Tuesday, July 16 at Brook-Lea Country Club, 891 Pixley Road, Rochester. This event, sponsored by AdPro Sports, is being held in conjunction with the fifth annual Danielle Downey Credit Union Classic, a women’s professional golf tournament on the Symetra Tour from July 15 through 21 at Brook-Lea CC. All activities support the Pluta Cancer Center Foundation and the Danielle Downey Scholarship Fund.
Advance tickets ($12) are now available at www.danielledowneyclassic.com, at all area Wegmans locations and can be purchased for $10 at area credit unions. Tickets will cost $15 at all locations or at the course on July 16.
Pre-game activities, including lunch, live music and introductions, take place from 1 to 1:45 p.m. The golf starts at 2 p.m. Many of the Symetra Tour professionals also will be playing practice rounds all day for fans who arrive early. Fans are invited to enjoy lunch at Brook-Lea prior to watching the “Celebrity Scramble.”
