Spencerport author publishes third novel

Jay Diedreck, a 1969 Spencerport High School graduate, and resident of Spencerport’s Hickory Hollow community, has released his third novel titled, A Port James Romance. Port James, the setting of his novel, is an ocean village somewhere on the seacoast of Maine. Diedreck says, “My wife and I must have saltwater flowing through our veins. We love Maine’s rugged splashing surf, and its rocky coastline. Over the years, we have enjoyed ten or more captivating vacations from Ogunquit to Bar Harbor.” So it is no wonder that Diedreck’s novels are immersed with that charming and unique New England flavor.

Jay has said that readers find his novels to be wholesome, enchanting, and uplifting. Many have expressed to Diedreck that they can’t stop reading, only until they finish. Some have read them a second time just to absorb that “good feeling” again from his stories. A Port James Romance is a love story, but also a message of strength, courage, and faith.

Borrowing from another one of Diedreck’s talents, are twelve of his hand-drawn, pen and ink illustrations found throughout his book. He believes that readers, from their own vacation experiences, will be able to enjoy and relate to many of them. All three books, Klem Watercrest the Lighthouse Keeper, Seaside Journeys of Faith, and the newly released, A Port James Romance, are available at Spencerport’s Unique Shop gift store and other book outlets as well as in digital format. YouTube book trailers can be viewed by searching the titles of each novel.
