Adaptive & Inclusive Birding Workshop
The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) is teaming up with Rochester Accessible Adventures and Braddock Bay Raptor Research for an adaptive and inclusive birding event.
The outdoors are for everyone to enjoy and DEC is committed to improving access for people of all abilities across the State. The Americans with Disabilities Act and DEC’s accessibility efforts are succeeding to help more people participate and enjoy the benefits of DEC’s services, programs, and activities. People of all abilities are invited to learn about these efforts and use specialized equipment like binoculars and wheelchair-accessible trails to enjoy birding.
With our partners, DEC continues to increase the range of accessible opportunities available for people to fish, boat, hunt, canoe, picnic, horseback ride, hike, and camp. This is achieved in a variety of ways, including through physical design, alternative forms of communication, inclusive programs, and individual accommodation.
