Churchville-Chili Voters Approve Phase VII Capital Project

Voters approved Phase VII of the Churchville-Chili Central School District’s Capital Project on January 26 by a vote of 270 to 69. The $49,890,000 project will be funded through state aid and the Capital Reserve Fund. There will be no added impact to the local tax share. Phase VII focuses on key needs across the district. The work supports safe, comfortable learning spaces and strong day-to-day operations.

Elementary schools

Work at Chestnut Ridge Elementary School, Fairbanks Road Elementary School, and Churchville Elementary School will focus on classrooms and building systems. These updates will support learning and meet current standards for healthy indoor temperatures. Planned work includes:

  • Classroom and HVAC upgrades
  • Flooring, millwork, and door replacements
  • Cafeteria and playground upgrades at Chestnut Ridge
  • Cafeteria upgrades at Fairbanks Road

Transportation facilities

Updates at the Transportation Center will support staff training and daily operations. Planned work includes:

  • A new professional development center for meetings and training
  • Flooring upgrades

Operations and Maintenance

The project includes a new 6,500-square-foot Grounds Building to better support O&M staff. Planned features include:

  • Additional office space
  • A break room and locker room
  • Six maintenance bays with overhead doors

The project will also continue the intercampus road. This extension will improve access and traffic flow. It will connect the Grounds Building and Transportation Facility to the main campus.

Superintendent of Schools Dr. Carmine Peluso thanked the community for its support. “This project allows us to address needs at our elementary schools that are not possible through our regular operating budget,” Peluso said. “Thank you to our voters for continuing to support our students and our schools.”
