New Leadership at Gates Chili CSD

The Gates Chili Board of Education approved the retirement of Superintendent Christopher Dailey on Monday, January 5. Board President Catherine Coffee said, “Since the 2019-20 school year, Mr. Dailey has worked alongside our staff, students, families and community to strengthen the district and keep a clear focus on student learning and well-being. We are grateful for his leadership and the many contributions he has made during his tenure. We wish him and his family the very best in retirement.”
To ensure continuity, the Board of Education appointed Deputy Superintendent Dr. Mitchell Ball to serve as interim superintendent effective immediately. Dr. Ball, who has been a leader in the district since January 2020, brings deep knowledge of the district and a steady commitment to its goals and day-to-day operations.
With Dr. Ball serving as interim superintendent and an experienced administrative team in place, the district will continue its work without interruption. “Our entire leadership team remains in place and focused on supporting schools and keeping students’ learning and well-being at the center. The steps we took earlier this year to strengthen how we operate day to day will help ensure a smooth transition,” Coffee added.
The board will discuss next steps for district leadership in the coming weeks and will share updates as decisions are made.
