Nominations Open
The New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets is now accepting nominations for the 2026 Women in Agriculture Awards, which honor outstanding women who are making significant contributions to agriculture across the state. Now in its third year, the awards recognize trailblazing women in 10 categories, including research, legacy, sustainability, veterinary practice, leadership, innovation, mentorship, overall achievement, and more.
Award recipients will be celebrated at the Women’s Day Breakfast during The Great New York State Fair on September 2, 2026. This year’s celebration will be especially meaningful, as 2026 has been designated by the United Nations as the International Year of the Woman Farmer, highlighting the global impact of women in agriculture.
Nominations must be submitted by May 22, 2026, at 5 p.m. Winners will be selected by a review committee and notified in June. More information and nomination details are available at https://tinyurl.com/4af66rp5.
