Town of Gates Celebrating America 250
The Town of Gates is hosting a community‐wide celebration, Celebrating America 250, on Saturday, June 27, at Gates Chili High School. The day will begin at 3 p.m. with a parade that follows Pixley Road to Buffalo Road and leads to the high school. There will be viewing areas in the parking lots at Westmar Plaza, Tops Plaza, and Gates Chili Middle School. A full schedule of festivities is planned at the high school starting at 4 p.m., including food trucks, kids’ activities, vendors, and live music, capped with a fireworks finale at 10 p.m. Musical performers include Keys to the Caddy from 4:30 to 6 p.m., Music of the Stars from 6:30 to 8 p.m., and Brass Taxi from 8:30 to 10 p.m. For the latest information on the event, visit townofgatesny.gov.
Friends of the Greece Public Library Used Book Sale
Friends of the Greece Public Library are sponsoring a Used Book Sale on Saturday, June 27, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Lower Level of Buckman’s Plaza, 2590 West Ridge Road. Selections include children’s books, non-fiction, fiction, mystery, adventure, romance, and more. Cash only. Please bring your own bag.
Greece Ridge Farmers Market
The Greece Ridge Farmers Market is celebrating its 37th consecutive season. Shop fresh produce, baked goods, and more from your favorite local vendors from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. every Thursday and Saturday through November. The market is in the Mall at Greece Ridge parking lot that is parallel to Long Pond Road.
North Chili Farmers Market
The North Chili Farmers Market was established in 1976. It is held from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. every Saturday from June 13 through October 24 at the United Methodist Church of North Chili, 2200 Westside Drive, at the corner of Buffalo Road. Wegmans Concerts by the Shore
Concerts by the Shore offers free musical entertainment on Wednesday evenings during the summer, starting at 7 p.m. at Ontario Beach Park, Rochester. Admission is free. Upcoming performers include Linda Rutherford & Celtic Fire (June 24), Atlas (July 1), Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra (July 8), La Nueva Secuencia (July 15), The Real News (July 22), and Ingite Reggae (July 29). Greece Blue Knights Marching Band Car, Truck, & Bike Show
The Greece Blue Knights Marching Band will hold its 2nd Annual Car, Truck, & Bike Show on Sunday, June 28, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Badgerow Park, 1120 Latta Road, Greece. Day-of registration is $20. Features awards, a 50/50 raffle, basket raffles, food and drink, and music by DJ Dougie Fresh. Spectator entry fee is $3. Town of Greece 4th of July Celebration
The community is invited to the Greece Town Hall Campus on Saturday, July 4, to celebrate the holiday with their neighbors and friends. Festivities start at 4 p.m. with food trucks, games, crafts, inflatables, and a 250th display from 4 to 8 p.m. Enjoy musical entertainment by Savannah Swatland & The Marshall Tucker Band from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. The evening will end with a fireworks display around 9:45 p.m. Parking is available at Greece Athena High School with shuttle service to the Town Hall Campus. Please note there is no 5K this year.
Gates Farmers Market
The 2026 Gates Farmers Market is held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the first and third Sunday of the month through October 4 in front of the Gates Public Library, 902 Elmgrove Road. Each day includes a different theme and features a variety of vendors, food trucks, and crafts. Stop by for Americana Market on July 5 and Midsummer’s Market on July 19. Homesteads for Hope’s Thursdays at the Farm
Every Thursday through October 15, Homesteads for Hope Community Farm, 2185 Manitou Road, opens at 4:30 p.m. for a relaxed, come-as-you-are kind of night – wander the grounds, check out local vendors, swing by the farm store, or let the kids enjoy pony rides. Enjoy it all from 5 to 8 p.m., with the sun going down on the canal and live music playing in the background. Upcoming performers include Mr. Heartache (June 25), The Endless Mountain Derelicts (July 2), Neil Van Dorn Band (July 9), High Low Jack (July 16), North Star String Band (July 23), and Hey Sister! (July 30). Bring your own chairs, coolers, or even a fishing pole, and settle in with good people and good energy. Open to all ages and abilities, there is a $5 suggested donation at the door.
Gates Recreation & Parks Summer Concert Series
Concerts are held on the second and fourth Sundays of July and August from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in the back parking lot of the Gates Town Hall, 1605 Buffalo Road. The Boomers will perform on July 12. From ballads to boogie, they have a repertoire of classic songs from the ‘40s through the ‘90s. Your American Jukebox will take the stage on July 26. Bridging generations through music, they play many genres and eras in a Big Band style. All concerts are free. Bring your blanket or lawn chair. In the event of inclement weather, the concerts will be held inside the Town Hall. Snacks and cold beverages will be available for purchase.
Red Cross Blood Drive
The American Red Cross will hold a blood drive on Friday, July 24, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Greece Town Hall, Conference Rooms A&B. Make an appointment by visiting RedCrossBlood.org, downloading the Red Cross Blood Donor App, or calling 1-800-RED CROSS.
Spencerport Canal Days
Head out to Spencerport Canal Days on July 25 and 26 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. In addition to the village’s many unique stores and restaurants, there will be arts-and-crafts vendors, food trucks, a tasting tent, live entertainment, children’s activities, and more. Christmas in July Arts & Crafts Show
The Kiwanis Club of Greece is holding a Christmas in July Arts & Crafts Show on Saturday, July 25, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Northwest YMCA (back gym), 730 Long Pond Road. Get a start on your holiday shopping with offerings from local crafters. There will also be items available for raffle. Free admission.
