Open House at Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery

This fall marks one year since Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery in Brockport installed its first columbarium. A columbarium is a dedicated structure in a cemetery to hold cremated remains. Mt. Olivet has a 72-niche octagonal columbarium, and spaces are available for Catholics or those related to a Catholic family member in the cemetery.
Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Brockport is the administrator of the cemetery, located at 6881 East Canal Road. Mt. Olivet is known for its long, tree-canopied entrance that leads back to a rural, pasture-like setting.
Nativity Church is holding an Open House on Saturday, October 17, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., so everyone can see the columbarium. Staff will be on hand with pricing information, and Fowler Funeral Home will have various displays as well. Light refreshments will be provided.
Those with questions are asked to call Brian Graves, Sexton, at Nativity Church: 585-637-4500.
