Town of Greece Recognize Greece Marching Band
A ceremony recognizing the Greece Marching Band was held during the February 25, 2020 meeting of the Greece Town Board.
The Greece Marching Band is composed of students in grades 7 thru 12 from the four Greece Middle and High Schools. The Greece Marching Band competed at the 46th Annual New York State Field Band Conference Championship in Syracuse, New York and finished in 2nd place in the state in the Large School 3 Division with a score of 83.55. They competed against over 50 high school marching bands from across the state and 3 out-of-state bands. Over the 14 hour long competition, each band was evaluated on their visual and musical performance. The Greece Marching Band has been competing for over 14 years and this score and placement is the highest ever in program history. Furthermore, the Greece Marching Band was undefeated through the regular season, placing 1st in all 8 competitions they competed in.
“Congratulations to Band Director Nicholas Coirazza and the members of the Greece Marching Band. The members of the Greece Marching Band are a dedicated group of individuals who practice countless hours. They participate in many community events – including the Town of Greece Memorial Day Parade. We congratulate them on their outstanding accomplishments,” Greece Town Supervisor Bill Reilich said during the ceremony.
