Greece Historical Society News
Greece Museum- Now Open on Sundays, 1:30-4:00 p.m. Our museum is now opened with COVID-19 restrictions in place. We can admit only a limited number of guests at any one time, patrons will need to wear masks, of course, and we will have a “No Touch” policy. Our Prohibition exhibit is on display and there is a new Suffrage Women of Greece & Charlotte display. The museum gift shop will also be open with a restriction of one customer at a time in the shop. Watch our Facebook page and website for updates or call us for more information.
Your Story–Our History- Tell us “your story” of how you are coping with the current corona virus or tell us how your organization is engaging with the community. As your local historical society, it is our responsibility to record and preserve the history of our town. If you send us your story, an account of life in Greece (and Charlotte) during this unusual time can then be recorded and preserved in our permanent collection, published in a book, and shared with our libraries and the New York State Historian’s Office. We can only do this if you tell us your story. Please help us preserve our history of this current crisis. Email us “your story” and photographs to greecehistoricalsociety@yahoo.com or mail to Greece Historical Society, PO Box 16249, Greece, NY 14616.
Greece Ecumenical Food Shelf- The Greece Historical Society is still collecting food for the Greece Ecumenical Food Shelf. If you can spare a few items, drop off your donations of canned food at any time to the front porch of the Greece Museum, 595 Long Pond Rd. The box is emptied daily. Thank you for your help during this time of critical need. For more information about the Greece Ecumenical Food Shelf, go to https://www.facebook.com/greecefoodshelf/
