Neighbor Donates Flag to Fire Station

Last month Ridge Road firefighters were returning from a structure fire in the Barnard Fire District to their quarters on Stone Ridge Drive. When they arrived they discovered local resident Bradley Howe who wanted to present a humbling gift. Mr. Howe explained he thought the Stone Ridge firehouse could use a new flag which he brought to donate. The firefighters from Group 2 and Group 3 were coming in for their night shift and immediately hung the flag to display.

Mr. Howe, a United States Navy veteran from the Vietnam era, expressed thanks to the firefighters for the services they provide to the community. It is not often we get praise for the work we do and we are extremely appreciative of Bradley’s kind words and extraordinary gesture.

The Stone Ridge firehouse has been serving residents and neighborhoods on the east side of the Ridge Road Fire District with pride and professionalism since 1971. The donated flag will fly proudly over our firehouse for months to come.
