Greece Historic Resources Survey now available to view
The Town of Greece is celebrating its 200th bicentennial anniversary this year. Throughout 2022, the town will be celebrating this significant milestone with a variety of events and services for residents that commemorate its two hundred year history and progress as a town and community.
As part of that effort, Supervisor Reilich has announced the release of the Town of Greece’s Bicentennial Historic Resources Survey. The survey is an online, living archive of maps, images, information, and historical narratives documenting Greece’s heritage in an accessible format that is easy to navigate for people of all ages. The survey will be maintained by the Town Historian and utilized to share the highlights of town history that have contributed to Greece being the community it is today.
“Think of it as a book with unlimited pages, where we can share information about our history in new and creative ways that are engaging to residents of all ages,” said Supervisor Reilich. “What better way to celebrate the Town’s bicentennial than reflecting on our history, the neighborhoods, business districts, waterways and people that are the fabric of our community and I invite and encourage all of Greece’s residents to take the time to utilize it.”
The Bicentennial Historic Resources Survey is the completion of another recommendation of the Town’s 2020 Comprehensive Plan.
