ROCTAC’s Mission: The Rochester Threat Advisory Committee (ROCTAC) represents a consortium of community stakeholders with diverse expertise and access to resources dedicated to closing threat management gaps in Rochester /Monroe County, NY and providing guidance on the mitigation of those threats.
In 2017, Monroe County Sheriff Todd Baxter lead the initiative to form a multi-disciplinary restorative approach to preventing acts of targeted violence based on the Salem-Keizer Model. When people whose behaviors make others feel that they are at risk of committing acts of targeted violence, restorative tools and expertise are used to intervene with that person and take them off the path to violence. Rather than limit mitigation to the role of law enforcement, we can prevent acts of targeted violence in our community and improve the lives of those who are on the pathway toward these acts.
You can reach ROCTAC by phone or email by visiting our secured, confidential contact page.
