Barnard Fire Department Announces the Purchase of Stryker Lucas CPR Device
The Lucas Device ensures Consistent, continuous, quality mechanical compressions, while CPR is underway.
The Barnard Fire Department announced the purchase of a Stryker Lucas Chest Compression Device that enables the Firefighters/Paramedics of the Barnard Fire Department to ensure continuous mechanical compressions during cardiac arrests. Delivery of high-quality compressions is vital for an increased chance of surviving a cardiac arrest.
Positive Patient Outcomes
Many patients have already benefited from the use of the Stryker Lucas chest compression device. Cardiac arrest patients may not respond to CPR and defibrillation alone. The Lucas device allows for continued compressions while additional advanced lifesaving therapies can be administered.
Community Support
This $18,648.94 purchase was made possible by the community’s support during our Bands of Barnard Concert Series and our annual fund drive. This device is the latest purchase by the Barnard Fire Department in our continued commitment to give back to our residents.
