Greece Old-Fashioned 4th of July Celebration

The 5K Freedom Run will kick off the day’s festivities and lead into a day filled with family friendly activities including the Super Hero Sprint for kids, food trucks, musical performances, family activities, and a fireworks spectacle!

The full schedule:
6:30 AM  – 5K Freedom Run Registration
7:00 AM – 5K Race Begins
8:00 AM – Super Hero Sprint Check-In
8:15 AM – Super Hero Sprint Begins
4:00 PM – Food Trucks Open and Family Activities Begin
6:30 PM – Nik and the Nice Guys perform
8:15 PM  – Our featured performer “Grand Funk Railroad” will take the stage
9:45 PM (approximately) – Fire Works Display
ADA compliant buses will be available at Greece Athena High School to transport people to the festivities, as there is no parking at the Greece Town Hall complex. Shuttles will begin departing at 4:15PM and will run continuously throughout the evening until 11:30PM.

Greece July 4th Celebration Headline Performer – Grand Funk Railroad
Originating from Flint, Michigan in 1969, this top selling, American rock group of the 70s is the The Town of Greece Old-Fashioned 4th of July Celebration headlining performers. Grand Funk Railroad, known as “The American Band,” is a high-energy, five-piece group that will play forty-five shows all over the USA this year.

Grand Funk Railroad includes original founding members, Don Brewer, vocals and drums, writer and singer of the multi-million selling hit, “We’re an American Band,” and bassist Mel Schacher, “The God of Thunder.” Joining Don and Mel are true all-stars, singer Max Carl, a rock veteran from 38 Special. Lead guitarist, Bruce Kulick, best known for his 12 years with KISS, and has credits with Michael Bolton, Meatloaf and Billy Squier. Keyboardist Tim Cashion is affectionately called “Dr. Tim.” His credits include stints with Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet Band.

Seasoned Grand Funk lovers and contemporary rock fans discovering the group for the first time will be able to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of “We’re An American Band with Grand Funk Railroad.
