Paddy Hill Elementary School Earns National Recognition
Paddy Hill Elementary School was recently named a Lighthouse School by Franklin Covey Education. This recognition honors the fidelity with which Paddy Hill has implemented the Leader in Me program.
Rooted in Stephen Covey’s 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, the program empowers students to be the leaders of their own learning. The curriculum teaches students how to set and achieve goals, work collaboratively, and cultivate a vision for the future. Leader in Me is used by a number of Greece schools to teach leadership and life skills and foster trusting relationships.
Paddy Hill, a K-5 school located at 1801 Latta Road, was one of the first in Greece to implement the Leader in Me curriculum. It is fitting that they continue to lead by example with this designation. They are the first school in the district and only the second school in Monroe County to achieve the Lighthouse School designation.
The 500-plus students who attend Paddy Hill celebrated the accomplishment on Friday, January 26. Students and staff participated in different activities throughout the day centered around the lighthouse-inspired ‘glow’ theme. Paddy Hill’s fun day of glowing lights, games, and activities provided students with a tangible example of how hard work impacts success.
