From the office of The Supervisor, Bill Reilich

The past several weeks have been dedicated to organizing our beloved Town events. Our biggest event of the year – the Town of Greece Old Fashioned 4th of July Celebration – as usual, drew a crowd of several thousand people!

The day began at 7 a.m. with the Freedom Run 5K, followed by the Super Hero Sprint for kids. Thanks to all those who braved the heat to take part in the morning races. By 4 p.m., the Greece Town Campus was bustling with activity as food trucks – including local favorites Kona Ice, Mr. Squeeze Lemonade, Wraps on Wheels, Lugia’s Ice Cream, Al’s Steakout, Mary’s Food, J&S Fried Dough, Melt Food Truck, Macarollin’, Sammies n’ Sweets, Snowie, Sugary Delights, and M&T BBQ. Families enjoyed inflatables, games, and free books for children courtesy of the Library Book Mobile’s “Free Books for Kids” cart.

The evening’s entertainment began with STYX at 6:30 p.m., followed by performances from legendary rock bands CHICAGO, and BOSTON. The celebration concluded with a spectacular fireworks show, regarded as one of the best in Monroe County. I would like to express gratitude to all who attended and extend a special thank you to sponsors including Wegmans, Bob Johnson Chevrolet, The Mall at Greece Ridge, Passero Associates, C.P. Ward, New York State Fence, Greenlight, Campobello Construction, Crown Castle, Intivity, and Van Putte Gardens for helping make the celebration possible.

Our next Food Truck Rodeo and Summer Concert will be held Thursday, August 14, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Greece Town Campus. The concert that evening will feature The Skycoasters.

As always, I enjoy hearing feedback from residents about programming and other Town-related matters. If you have any concerns, please do not hesitate to contact Greece Town Hall or visit our website.
