The Greece Police Department (GPD) recently announced the selection of Officer Stephen Cappotelli as its 2025 Officer of the Year.
Since joining the GPD three years ago, Officer Cappotelli has set a high standard for professionalism, work ethic, and proactive policing. He consistently manages his sector while staying engaged in proactive law enforcement, recovering stolen vehicles, and providing his fellow officers with critical information in real time.
Officer Cappotelli’s quick and professional responses to incidents, including apprehending suspects in multiple cases, demonstrate his dedication and skill. His peers and supervisors describe him as dependable, highly professional, and consistently going above and beyond.
This recognition came as Officer Cappotelli celebrated his third anniversary with the department, reflecting the meaningful impact he has had on the organization and the community.
Nine officers were nominated for the Officer of the Year award, each recognized for outstanding performance and contributions to the department. Officer Cappotelli’s selection reflects a year of exceptional work and consistent professionalism that truly stands out.
