Donna CrowleyDonna Crowley, a long time resident in the area, turned 85 on February 3. Donna is active in supporting the community in many ways, working in the kitchen at her church barbecue fundraisers, holding a leading role in a Monroe County Home Bureau group, and teaching crafts to seniors in Greece and in Hilton, to name a few.
A few months ago, her church, Parma Greece UCC, had the children in the congregation collect food to equal their weight. This gave her the idea for her birthday of asking her friends to donate to the Hilton Food Shelf in lieu of gifts and cards.
The party to celebrate was held on February 10 and all guests came with items to stock the shelves of the food pantry. To date, 109 pounds of food has been donated along with monetary donations.
