Byron-Bergen schedules Pre-K registration
Byron-Bergen CSD intends to offer its Universal Pre-Kindergarten (UPK) program for the 2013-2014 school year. The program, which is half day for students and transportation is provided by the district, is held at Byron-Bergen Elementary School.
An information night is scheduled for Tuesday, April 9, at the Elementary School Cafetorium at 6 p.m. The UPK teachers will provide information about the curriculum, the program, and explain the developmentally appropriate, standards-based, exciting, hands-on learning environment for students.
Students eligible for the program must turn 4 years of age by December 1, 2013. District residents who have a child born before December 1, 2009 and who are interested in having him/her attend the UPK program, can send a letter of interest with the child’s name, parents’ names, address, phone number, and birth date to: Brian Meister, Elementary School Principal, 6971 West Bergen Road, Bergen, New York 14416, by Wednesday, March 27. Parents who have already contacted the Elementary School by phone will still need to send in a letter of interest. If the district receives more requests than the allowed capacity, a UPK lottery system will be used to select students.
