Miami Heat forward LeBron James has been selected as the Hickok Belt™ Award winner for the month of March 2013. James was selected based on his outstanding performance throughout March, a month in which the Miami Heat went 17-1 to establish an NBA record for the most wins in a single month. During that stretch James averaged 25.8 points, 8.2 rebounds and 7.4 assists per game while shooting 53 percent from the field.
Other finalists for the month of March in order of how the National Sportscasters and Sports Writers Association (NSSA) voters ranked them included: Tiger Woods (golf), Sidney Crosby (hockey), Jenn Suhr (track & field), Sergei Bobrovsky (hockey), Stacey Lewis (golf), Mitch Seavey (dog sled racing), Rafael Nadal (tennis), Maria Sharapova (tennis), and Jason Belmonte (bowling).
