Orleans County 4-Hers and their families came together for their annual fair the week of July 22 to 27 at the Orleans County 4-H Fairgrounds in Knowlesville. Large Animal Grand Master Showman was Janie Schutz, Reserve was Jenny McKenna. Small Animal Grand Master Showman was Jacob Wachob, Reserve was Claudia Drechsel. 2013 Fair Royalty are: Prince, Andrew Drechsel, alternate, Will Gregoire; Princess, Joan-Marie Gabalski, alternate, Audrey Pask; Duke, Andrew Moore, alternate, Brian Neal; Duchess, Claudia Drechsel, alternate, Marisa Hanlon; King, Zach Blackburn, alternate, Jacob Wachob; Queen, Maggie Gabalski, alternate, Janie Schutz.
This year’s fair theme was, “Let’s have some fun under the sun.” New attractions this year included the Fearless Flores Family – a thrill show including family members riding motorcycles inside a giant metal cage; a mechanical bull; miniature golf and the “Magic of Cliff Hopkins and Kelly.” Back again by popular demand was the “Chainsaw Chix” with their wildlife sculptures cut from large tree logs with a chainsaw.
