Incumbents fared well in local Republican primaries held Sept. 10

In the Town of Clarkson, Town Justice Allyn S. Hammel received 68.5 percent of the vote over Robert S. Rejewski, Sr., who received 31 percent. Both will face-off again in November as Rejewski has the Democratic endorsement.
In the Town of Hamlin, Supervisor Thomas Breslawski won the Republican primary with 52 percent of the vote over Eric G. Peters, who received 48 percent.   Peters will be on the November ballot as he has the Conservative endorsement.
Incumbent Hamlin Town Council members Craig A. Goodrich and Jason M. Baxter received 37 percent and 34.6 percent of the vote, respectively, for two council seats. Newcomer Kurtis Goltermann had challenged them for the Republican line and received 28 percent of the votes. Both Goodrich and Baxter also have the Conservative and Independence endorsements.
In the Town of Clarendon, Orleans County, incumbent Town Council Member Paul Nicosia received 118 votes and newcomer Marc Major received 111 votes in a  Republican primary for two open seats on the Clarendon Town Council. Donna DeFilipps received 96 votes.
