Unity Health System plans to launch a program that provides a central access point for people suffering from foot and ankle conditions.
Unity’s Foot and Ankle Center is the first of its kind in the area. The Center was developed through a collaborative partnership among Unity medical staff, Unity Physical Therapy and community partners, according to a press release.
Unity’s network of specialists includes podiatrists, orthopedists, physical therapists and orthotic experts. The patient’s condition determines the appropriate action to be taken and may range from a comprehensive consultation to podiatric or orthopaedic surgery.
The goal of the Foot and Ankle Center is to have a Nurse Navigator guide patients smoothly through the treatment process in a manner that’s effective, efficient and ‘user friendly’.
